The Hill House
The Hill House is high up a hill in Helensburgh, overlooking the Firth of Clyde.
Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed almost everything inside the house.
This includes the decorative schemes and the furniture to the fittings and contents and much has been restored. It looks almost exactly as it did in 1904 when its first residents, Glasgow publisher Walter Blackie and his family, moved in.
Here is a very nice video showing the external views of the house provided by ‘chaldon2view’ on YouTube.
FYI: Photography is not allowed inside the house.
Take a look at this lovely dolls house version of Hill House by Muriel Watson.
The attention to detail is astounding. 🙂
